About Your Hotel

Arrochar Hotel, Arrochar.

Arrochar lies at the head of Loch Long, in an idyllic location that offers the best of Scotland: a sea loch surrounded by mountains, all within easy reach of Glasgow. This does mean it can be a busy place at the height of the season and at weekends, but catch it when it is a little quieter (the images on this page were taken in April) and you begin to see the plus points of somewhere that is all too often under-appreciated.

Your Five Day Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Morning departure from local area. We journey north to Arrochar via Luss (Take The High Road) and Loch Lomond. Arrive hotel during the afternoon with time at leisure before three-course dinner.

Day 2: Depart the hotel after breakfast for scenic excursion through the Scottish Highlands to Oban, Gateway to the Isle. Free time for sights before rejoining coach in the afternoon for visit to Pretty Seil Island. To enter Seil Island we must cross the famous Atlantic Bridge, (The only Bridge to cross the Atlantic). We return to Arrochar later in the afternoon.

Day 3: Depart the hotel after leisurely breakfast for full day excursion following the shores of Loch Fyne and short stop at Inveraray then on to Kintyre peninsular. Early afternoon ferry crossing from Tayinloan to the Isle of Gigha (crossing time 20 minutes). Light lunch at the Gigha Hotel plus visit to Achamore Gardens before return ferry to the mailand and return to Arrochar. Arrive back at our hotel in the early evening.

Day 4: We depart the hotel and journey to Fort William for free time at leisure for shopping and sightseeing. After lunch we travel on to Spean Bridge. The views are spectacular, where the lovely Kilmonivaig Church and churchyard form a pretty and peaceful oasis. The dramatically imposing Commando Memorial, a bronze monument crafted by Scott Sutherland and placed here in 1952 to commemorate the many members of the elite commando units who trained in the area during the second world war.

Day 5: We depart our hotel after breakfast and journey home with short stop in Moffat. Regular comfort stops en-route, arriving back in local area late afternoon.
